It’s already Thursday!! Holy Smokes this week is flying by! I’m not complaining one bit either. It just makes it a few days closer to the start of my summer vacation.
Thursday also means it’s time to for some Thinking Out Loud! Here I go! 🙂
Tonight, we are taking Hayden to her first concert, Mumford and Sons!! I am so excited to see them. Mumford and Sons remind me of summertime in Maryland. We first heard them several years back when we were driving through DC, listening to DC 101. They were playing Little Lion Man and we were instantly all hooked. Since then, Mumford and Sons has been our road trip music of choice! I’m excited to finally see them play live and I’m thrilled that Hayden gets to see them as her first concert. We’ll be seeing Fall Out Boy next month.
We were able to finally have our family pictures done this past weekend. We are so lucky to have an amazing photographer in the family! Nick’s cousin’s wife, Erica owns Captured Love Photography. Here are just three of the many shots we took at a local park. Each picture just makes me happy! It was great to take pictures of not only our individual families and kiddos, but to also have pictures with just my sisters and our whole big family. I hope that we can do it all again in the Fall. The park will be absolutely gorgeous.
3 days…3 more days. June is a tough month for teachers, parents and students. Testing is finished, books are being collected, grades are finishing up and students want nothing more than to start vacation. Teachers are doing the best they can to hang on and to try and make it worthwhile for students to come to school, knowing that we are just as excited for summer to start as the kiddos! Parents are fighting the pre-summer giddiness at home. Hayden asks me about every day when is the last day and does she have to keep going to school. Soon enough…just a bit longer.
As far as running, it’s pretty much been hard as can be. We’ve hit 90’s the last two days and it about near took me out on my run. Cara and I just kept trudging along. I’m pretty sure someone shoved my shoes full of sand because we were not getting any where quickly or easily. It was rough. For me right now, it’s just all about being out there and getting miles in the best I can. Summer is tough to run in! I love it for all the fun activities, but man, give me a cold winter day to run in any day.
I just also have exciting news to share! I was chosen to be an Asheville Marathon Ambassador for the Asheville Full and Half marathons at Biltmore Estate. I’m excited to be a part of a great group of runners and I’m even more thrilled to be able to run the race next March. The entire race is run on the beautiful grounds of the Biltmore, taking in the sights and sounds of this historic home. If you are interested in joining me, you can save 15% on the full, half, or challenge between now and July 31st by registering with my code: MELANIE2016AMAROCKS. I’m running the half! 🙂 This race has sold out the last few years!
What’s on your mind? What are you thinking about? What was your first concert? Share it with me!
