Hi y’all!! Hope everyone is having a great week! It’s Thursday so buckle up and get ready! We got some thinking out loud to do!
22…22 is the number floating around in my mind. 22 more days stand between me and summer vacation. May as any teacher will tell you is rough. Testing is starting soon, the kids are all but done with school and the teachers’ patience is slowly slipping away. Even the darling kiddos are losing it. I’m just doing my best to keep a structured class, on task all the time and routine. Stepping out of any of those parameters means disaster!I am super excited though that I have a day away off campus with fellow co-workers for some staff development today. Although it’s a stressful time of year to be out, it’ll be a nice refreshing break and hopefully I’ll feel renewed to push through the next few days. It’s always such a treat to be able to actually go to lunch. Not something that happens ever when I’m at school.
Hayden had a great start to 12! She was super cute and said that she didn’t feel any different being 12 now. I told her to wait til she’s 40, then you’ll feel different. She rolled her eyes,as I expected. We took her shopping. Picking anything out for her nowadays is about impossible. She’s constantly changing her interests and it’s easier to let give her money and let her pick out her own things. We had a great time!
We are having family pictures made this weekend. Our family and my sisters’ families too. We are so lucky to have a photographer in the family! Nick’s step cousin’s wife, Erica, will be taking our pics. She does amazing work!! We’re heading to a local park, which at this time of year is even more beautiful. We’ll take some individual kiddo, family and then combined pics for my mom.
Running wise, still rolling along. Not much to write about other than it’s hot. Like already summer-like temps here in NC hot. The heat and humidity are kicking full force and I’ve already noticed that I’m having to take walk breaks more to keep my HR down. It’s fine. That’s why I love HR training in the summer especially. HR is a great indicator of effort. So I fully expect my pace to drop, having to walk more, but I know I’m keeping myself safe and on target for my goals when I train by it. It’s part of the whole process.
Race 13.1 Greensboro is on Sunday! I’m ready to pace and it looks like we will have a decent race day morning with temps in the mid-60’s. Similar temps to last year!
So what’s on your mind? What are you thinking about? Share it with me!
