#TuesdayTen – Bring on the Quotes!

I was inspired by this week’s #TuesdayTen .  I am a huge quote fan!  I find inspiration from some, calmness from others, and get great laughs too.  So I’m going with a little bit of all of the above!

MY RUNNING QUOTE

This my all time favorite running quote.  This explains perfectly of why I started running.  I’ve not found any other quote that sums it up better than this.

…I had to do something to shake up my life and get back some sense of control and trust in the world and along the way fill the hollow space. I needed to rebel against those negative forces, to scream so loud and for so long that the anger living inside me would evacuate forever. But instead of screaming, I ran.

MY RACE DAY MANTRA

LIFE LESSONS

Do the things you used to talk about doing but never did. Know when to let go and when to hold on tight. Stop rushing. Don’t be intimidated to say it like it is. Stop apologizing all the time. Learn to say no, so your yes has some oomph. Spend time with the friends who lift you up, and cut loose the ones who bring you down. Stop giving your power away. Be more concerned with being interested than being interesting. Be old enough to appreciate your freedom, and young enough to enjoy it. Finally know who you are.
― Kristin Armstrong

MY RUNNING GROUP

There are friendships that have been forged by dedication and by pain, by defeat and by accomplishment, by mud and by sweat, by laughter and by tears. Friends who have seen each other when we look our worst and when we look our best, when we feel like we could collapse and when we’ve won our biggest victory. Friends who encourage us when we want to stop, stick with us when we’re about to fall, and run beside us not just in races but everyday. These are the types of friendships that don’t fade with time and don’t dwindle with distance. These are running partners.” -Ellen Gass

  1. Your quotes are all awesome! I especially love the approach you took to this topic by assigning them labels. Excellent idea. All that you included are very motivating and inspiring – just the way a great quote should be … and I smiled at your inclusion of the one about Aunts. Always makes me wonder what’s wrong with the 1 out of 10 that didn’t get their awesomeness from their aunt. 🙂

  2. Haha….. Love it…. My children are runners and loved the running quotes. I laughed pretty hard at the one about signing up for another race!

My favorite quote is about life from of all peeps Snoopy ~ In life it is not where you go ~ It’s who you travel with.

  3. Hey!! So much coolness here!!! By the way, love the Kaci Diane quote!! Wow, what a great one!! Seriously made me tear up!! So true!! Have a fabulous week!! You’re a rock star!! xoxoxoxo

I would love to hear your thoughts and comments! Please leave one!
