Weekly Fitness Plan – The Taper Edition

I have been waiting 10 weeks to write those words…Taper!  It can only mean one thing, we’ve completed 10 weeks of back to back runs and it’s time to put all our hard work to practice in Tampa!  One week to go!!


Monday – 1 mile and whatever PiYo workout that decides to work

Tuesday – Long run part one, 6 miles.  I’ll run a few before hand and meet Cara for the rest.

Wednesday – Long run part two, 7 miles.  I’ll do a repeat and run a few and meet Cara for the rest.

Thursday – 1 mile and yoga

Friday – 1 mile and plenty of walking around NYC

Saturday – 1 mile and plenty of walking around NYC

Sunday – I’m hoping to maybe get a 3 mile run in when we get back into town.

Total miles: 20 miles

  1. Yes Melanie the time has come!!! Arrrrrrr you ready!!!! I won’t be 100% but I’m looking forward to being part of the festivities. I’m sending you an early welcome to Tampa!!! I’ll be at the expo on Friday and racing/training run Sunday (8K) 🙂

  2. well, my plan was 18 miles this week, 3/5/3 and then a long 7 on Saturday. However, I caught something on Monday and now I’m sick. I missed yesterday and today’s run. Hoping to get better so I can run tomorrow’s 3 and Saturday’s 7.
    Your week sounds really nice! Have fun in NYC!
